Training
All Digimap for Schools training is FREE. Our training comprises short online sessions that you can attend from the comfort of your desk. We demonstrate the service, give tips and suggestions and there is plenty of time for questions. You just need a computer (or tablet) with speakers that is connected to the internet. Our training sessions are open to anyone interested in Digimap for Schools and you can attend as many sessions as you wish.
Recordings of webinars will only be available after the event to those who register. If you are interested in the event, but aren't sure you can attend, please register anyway. You will still be sent an email with a link to the recording after the event. Recordings will not be available to anyone who does not register for an event.
If you would like to present some work you've done with Digimap for Schools to fellow teachers, please get in touch. We would love to help you share your experiences.

Changing Settlements and Land Use with Digimap for Schools
Discover how to use Digimap for Schools to explore how villages, towns and cities change over time, and how land is used in different ways as places develop. This session shows how digital mapping can help pupils investigate the growth of settlements, compare places, and understand how people shape the environment around them.
Who is this training for?
This session is for primary and secondary teachers who want to make geography more relevant and engaging through practical, map-based enquiry. It is especially useful for teachers covering settlements, land use, local area studies, place change or human geography.
What will we cover
- How to use Digimap for Schools to explore settlement patterns in local and wider areas.
- Ways to identify and compare different types of land use, including housing, industry, transport and green space.

Exploring Shakespeare’s Settings and Journeys with Digimap for Schools
Discover how to use Digimap for Schools to bring Shakespeare’s plays to life through place, movement and setting. This session shows how digital mapping can help pupils explore where stories happen, follow character journeys, and think more deeply about how setting shapes mood, meaning and narrative.
Who is this training for?
This session is for primary and secondary teachers who want to use Digimap for Schools in creative, cross-curricular ways. It is especially useful for teachers looking to strengthen links between English and geography while making Shakespeare more visual and accessible.
What will we cover
